In this portrait series, I use the cow as a symbolic form to explore my own observations of the ways we relate to animals through play, consumption, fashion, and power. The mask became a tool for me to think through how identity and ideology can overlap and blur.

As the images developed, I found myself moving between recognition and discomfort, questioning how these relationships are formed and understood. The work became less about making a statement and more about sitting within those contradictions, while considering how meaning is shaped through everyday gestures, objects, and roles. These portraits reflect an ongoing attempt to understand what it means to embody, project onto, or define ourselves in relation to other beings.
